Yaz Associated With Increased Risk of Blood Clots

A recent study published in the British Medical Journal found the risk of non-fatal blood clots (venous thromboembolism) among users of oral contraceptives containing drospirenone seems to be around twice that of users of oral contraceptives containing levonorgestrel.  Yaz and Yasmin contain drospirenone.
